BOSTON — Officers arrested a man Tuesday in connection with a drug trafficking investigation near Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard.
Jonathon Turner, 29, of Springfield, was taken into custody at about 11:34 a.m. after officers observed what appeared to be a drug transaction.
Police recovered crack cocaine from a suspected buyer, who was issued a summons for possession of a Class B substance.
Officers then detained Turner at a bus shelter near Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street.
A search of Turner’s sweatshirt pocket yielded 101 bags of suspected crack cocaine, totaling approximately 122 grams.
Police also seized an undisclosed amount of cash.
Turner faces charges of distribution of a Class B substance and trafficking a Class B substance (100–200 grams).
He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
