Boston man captured in New York on kidnapping, assault charges

BOSTON — Adam McCree of Dorchester has been apprehended in New York after a multi-agency manhunt.

Detectives from the Boston Police Department’s District C-6 and the Boston Police Fugitive Unit had sought public assistance in locating the 28-year-old.

McCree was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.

He was wanted in connection with an attempted kidnapping and assault and battery that occurred at approximately 4:37 a.m. on Sunday, May 25, in South Boston.

McCree also faces multiple outstanding warrants in Boston and New York.

Investigators initially believed he had fled to New York after the incident.
