BEEKMAN — A woman from Weslaco, Texas, was arrested May 24 after allegedly smuggling marijuana into Greenhaven Correctional Facility in the Town of Beekman.
State police said Christina C. Miranda, 24, brought approximately 63 grams of marijuana into the facility by concealing it on her child’s back.
Troopers assigned to SP Poughkeepsie responded to the facility after receiving a report that a visitor had introduced contraband.
Miranda was charged with promoting prison contraband in the 2nd degree and endangering the welfare of a child, both Class A misdemeanors.
She was released on an appearance ticket.
Miranda is scheduled to appear before the Town of Beekman Court on June 12 at 6:00 p.m.
