OWEGO — Owego police responded to 150 calls for service and made eight arrests during the week of May 19 through May 25, according to a police department press release.
Officers responded to four motor vehicle accidents and issued three traffic tickets during the week.
A 25-year-old Owego woman was taken into custody on a mental health hold after police received a report that she was a danger to herself.
She was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Charles S. Wilcox, 47, of Owego, was arrested on an arrest warrant for second-degree arson, a class B felony, after failing to appear in court.
He was turned over to Tioga County Sheriff’s custody for arraignment at Tioga County Centralized Arraignment Court and released on his own recognizance pending further court appearances.
Stacy M. Conklin, 41, of Owego, was arrested on three separate arrest warrants issued by the Village of Owego Court for trespassing (violation), violating public health law (misdemeanor), and trespassing (violation).
Conklin was turned over to Tioga County Sheriff’s custody for arraignment at Tioga County Centralized Arraignment Court.
Wilcox was also arrested for trespassing (violation) following an investigation at a laundromat on North Avenue.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Village of Owego Court.
Andrew B. Carter, 24, of the Town of Tioga, was arrested for petit larceny (misdemeanor), following an investigation into shoplifting at Family Dollar on West Main Street.
Carter was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Village of Owego Court.
A 47-year-old Owego man was also taken into custody on a mental health hold after police received a report that he was a danger to himself.
He was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
