MARATHON — A Town of Marathon man was arrested early May 24 on a charge of second-degree criminal contempt, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers were dispatched around 8:40 p.m. May 23 to the Village of Marathon for a harassment complaint.
Law enforcement determined that Benjamin M. Higgins, 52, of Academy Street, had violated the terms of an Order of Protection during the incident.
Higgins was arrested and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
He was arraigned via the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8:00 a.m. May 24 and released on his own recognizance.
His next court appearance is scheduled in the Town of Marathon Court at 6:30 p.m. June 12.
