Cortlandville police arrest two on petit larceny, child endangerment charges

CORTLANDVILLE — Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals Saturday evening following an alleged theft at Walmart on Bennie Road in the town of Cortlandville.

According to the sheriff’s office, police responded to the store at approximately 6:04 p.m. on May 24 after staff reported a larceny in progress.

Through investigation, officers determined that Kendra M. Clark, 36, and David W. Phillips, 46, both of Clinton Avenue in the city of Cortland, conspired to steal merchandise from the store.

Clark and Phillips were taken into custody and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

Both defendants are charged with petit larceny, conspiracy in the sixth degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.

Clark and Phillips were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in the town of Cortlandville Court on June 9 at 1 p.m.
