SPRINGFIELD — A 46-year-old Claremont woman was arrested Thursday evening after police found suspected cocaine during a traffic stop near Southview Apartment Complex.

Carra J. Meyette was charged with possession of cocaine following the May 1 incident, according to a press release from the Springfield Police Department.

Officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area when they observed a vehicle leaving the apartment complex and committing a traffic infraction, prompting them to initiate a stop at approximately 9:33 p.m.

During the stop, consent to search the vehicle and its occupants was granted, police said.

While searching Meyette, who was a passenger in the vehicle, officers discovered what they believed to be cocaine.

Meyette was arrested without incident and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing.

She was issued a citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, on June 24 at 8 a.m. to answer to the charge.
