Gunfire strikes Utica home, man grazed by bullet

UTICA — Multiple gunshots struck a residence on the 700 block of Roberts Street early Monday morning, leaving one man with minor injuries.

Utica Police units responded to a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 1:30 a.m. May 26.

Upon arrival, officers found a home riddled with bullet holes and spoke with a male occupant who was inside during the shooting.

The man told police he heard gunshots and was grazed by one of the bullets that entered the home.

He did not suffer serious injuries.

Officers canvassed the immediate area and recovered 15 spent shell casings.

The Utica Police Department Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.
