Driver crashes U-Haul in Whitingham, faces DUI charge

WHITINGHAM — A North Adams woman faces a DUI charge after crashing a U-Haul truck in Whitingham on Sunday evening.

Vermont State Police from the Westminster Barracks responded to a report of a U-Haul off the roadway at the intersection of VT-100 and Plumb Road at approximately 7:59 p.m. on May 25.

The operator, identified as Lindsee M. Delano, 30, was transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash.

Further investigation revealed Delano was under the influence of intoxicants while operating the motor vehicle, according to police.

Delano was issued a citation to appear before the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division on June 22 at 8:30 a.m., to answer for the charge of Driving Under the Influence.
