PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police made four arrests over the Memorial Day weekend, including charges for drug possession and driving under the influence.
On Saturday at 1:19 p.m., troopers arrested Desiree Babbitt, 47, of East Providence, for possession of less than 10 grams of psilocybin, a Schedule I controlled substance.
Babbitt was stopped on Route 146 South in Providence, processed at Lincoln Woods Barracks, and released after arraignment by a Justice of the Peace.
Later that evening at 9:31 p.m., Samuel Hernandez Carrasquil, 39, of Providence, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content between .10 and .15 percent.
Carrasquil, who registered .134% and .117% in breath tests, was stopped on Asburton Street in Providence and later released to a responsible adult after processing.
At 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Elias Medina, 26, of Providence, turned himself in at Lincoln Woods Barracks and was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in damage to an attended vehicle.
Early Sunday at 1:02 a.m., troopers arrested Tyler Bruce, 29, of Central Falls, for possession of less than 10 grams of cocaine following a traffic stop on Vinton Street in Providence.
Both Medina and Bruce were released with future court dates in Sixth Division District Court.
