HOOKSETT — A Londonderry man faces multiple charges including DUI and assault after allegedly kicking a police officer during an arrest early Saturday morning.
Jassen Franziez, 38, was stopped by Hooksett Police at approximately 2:57 a.m. on May 24 for a red light violation and unsafe speed.
Officers observed signs of impairment, and Franziez refused to participate in sobriety tests, according to police.
After being placed under arrest for DUI, Franziez allegedly did not comply with officers’ commands and actively resisted being placed in the police cruiser.
During the struggle, police say Franziez kicked an officer twice in the head and chest.
The officer was not injured in the incident.
The Manchester Police Department was called to assist, and Franziez was ultimately transported in their larger transport van.
Franziez has been charged with DUI, resisting arrest, two counts of simple assault, disorderly conduct, and traffic control device violation.
He is being held on $1,000 cash bail while awaiting arraignment at the 6th Circuit Court in Hooksett.
