Driver faces DUI charge after East Dorset crash

EAST DORSET — A Rutland woman was charged with driving under the influence after her vehicle went down an embankment near the intersection of Route 7a and U.S. Route 7 on May 24.

Vermont State Police responded to the scene at approximately 3:08 p.m. after receiving reports of a single-vehicle crash with entrapment.

Heather J. Mosher, 50, was driving a 2014 Dodge Avenger northbound on Route 7a when she approached the intersection with U.S. Route 7 and went down a small embankment, according to police.

Troopers observed several signs of impairment while speaking with Mosher at the scene.

Mosher sustained minor injuries and was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center, where she was later processed for suspicion of DUI.

She was issued a citation to appear in Bennington Superior Court Criminal Division.

The Manchester Police Department, East Dorset Fire Department, and Monarch Towing assisted troopers at the crash site.
