BOSTON — Boston police are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect who allegedly vandalized traffic control boxes at multiple downtown intersections, disabling traffic lights.

The incidents occurred on Thursday, May 22, between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Washington Street and Kneeland Street, and Washington Street and Lagrange Street, according to detectives from District A-1.

Police say the suspect accessed Boston Transportation Department traffic control boxes at these intersections, cut electrical wires, and disabled the traffic lights.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male with a grey beard, wearing a black hat, black jacket, yellow hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and brown construction boots.

Authorities noted the individual was seen walking with an imbalanced gait or limp and carrying a long pole.
