State police make 4 arrests in overnight operations in Providence area

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested four individuals overnight on various charges including breaking and entering, weapons violations, and driving under the influence.

At 11:46 p.m., Troopers arrested Roldanny Martes, 19, of Providence, on an arrest warrant from East Providence Police for breaking and entering, larceny over $1500, and conspiracy.

The arrest occurred during a motor vehicle stop on Admiral Street in Providence.

Martes was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks before being transferred to East Providence Police.

At 1:30 a.m., Troopers arrested Latish Benton, 39, of Woonsocket, on a shoplifting warrant from Providence Police following a traffic stop on Route 146 in Providence.

Benton was processed at Lincoln Woods Barracks and later turned over to Providence Police.

At 2:37 a.m., Isaiah Pugh, 28, of Cranston, was arrested for carrying a pistol without a license after a vehicle stop on Branch Avenue in Providence.

Pugh was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future court date in Sixth Division District Court.

Minutes later, at 2:42 a.m., Troopers arrested Simeon Thomas, 53, of North Providence, for driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test following a traffic stop on Old Louisquisset Pike in Lincoln.

Thomas was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released to a responsible adult.
