Boston police recover loaded firearm, drugs in Dorchester search

BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Units arrested a 30-year-old Dorchester man on firearm and drug charges following the execution of search warrants Saturday.

Tristan Preval was taken into custody around 12:30 p.m. at 11 Arcadia Street in Dorchester.

Officers recovered a loaded Rossi R351 .38 Special Revolver containing five rounds of ammunition during the search.

Police also seized two plastic bags of crack cocaine, drug packaging materials and digital scales from the residence.

Preval faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, improper storage of a firearm, and possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs.

Authorities noted that Preval is also charged with subsequent offense counts for both firearm possession and drug distribution.

He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
