SOLVAY — Two suspects were arrested early Saturday after fleeing from police responding to reports of suspicious activity in a residential area.

At 2:30 a.m. on May 24, Solvay Police officers responded to the 300 block of Draper Avenue following reports of two suspicious individuals allegedly committing larcenies from vehicles.

When officers arrived at the scene, the suspects fled on foot.

Police quickly established a perimeter around the area.

After what authorities described as a lengthy search, both suspects were located and taken into custody.

The Solvay Police Department credited community members for their diligence and prompt reporting to 911.

Authorities noted that vehicle break-ins have been an ongoing issue in the area and throughout the county.

Police reminded residents to remove keys from their vehicles and lock their doors to prevent similar incidents.
