SCHENECTADY — State Police arrested a 22-year-old Schenectady man Thursday on felony charges related to child sexual exploitation.

Rashaad W. Lodge was charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony.

The arrest on May 22 followed an investigation by State Police of Princetown with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Authorities executed a search warrant at Lodge’s Schenectady residence Thursday morning.

Officials said the investigation began after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Lodge was processed at the State Police Princetown station and arraigned at Schenectady City Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.
