MERIDEN — A Meriden resident was arrested on multiple charges following a narcotics investigation conducted by local police.
During April and May, the Meriden Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) investigated suspected drug activity in the Willow Street area.
Investigators identified Deyshon Pina as a suspect allegedly involved in selling illegal narcotics.
Police also received information that Pina was in possession of an illegal firearm.
CSU members observed Pina engage in multiple suspected narcotics transactions before taking him into custody.
Upon arrest, officers found approximately 3.4 grams of crack cocaine on Pina’s person.
A loaded .45 caliber pistol was discovered in the rear seat of the vehicle next to where Pina was sitting.
Authorities noted that Pina is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms.
Pina was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, second-degree criminal mischief, weapons in a motor vehicle, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
