KENT COUNTY — A 34-year-old Coventry man was arrested on multiple drug charges following a months-long investigation by local police.
Julio Rivera of 3541 Flat River Rd. was arrested May 21 for possession with intent to manufacture and deliver cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, as well as possession of testosterone, a Schedule III drug.
The Coventry Police Department’s Detective Division executed a court-authorized search warrant at Rivera’s residence at 11 a.m. on May 21.
The search was assisted by Coventry Patrol Division, Police K9 “Nixo,” Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and RI Department of Corrections-Special Investigations Home Confinement Unit.
Detectives seized 117 grams of cocaine, 91 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of fentanyl and vials of testosterone, along with drug cooking equipment, packaging materials, and a large amount of cash.
Rivera was arraigned May 22 in Kent County District Court, where he was presented as a Superior Court bail violator on 2024 West Warwick charges including possession with intent to deliver controlled substance, possession of a firearm while delivering a controlled substance, possession of a firearm prohibited and possession of a stolen firearm.
He was ordered held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions on the new charges.
