NEWBURY — A 20-year-old Chelsea man suffered suspected serious injuries after his vehicle struck a tree and overturned on Interstate 91 South Friday morning.
Colby Martin was driving a 2013 Subaru Impreza southbound near mile marker 102 when he failed to maintain his lane, according to Vermont State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:19 a.m. during cloudy conditions with light rain.
Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to the scene and found Martin’s vehicle had come to rest on its roof after striking a tree.
Martin, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
The vehicle was declared a total loss.
Upper Valley Ambulance and Wells Rivers Fire Department assisted state police at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation, and civil violation charges are pending.
