MT. MORRIS — A Wyoming County resident faces felony charges after allegedly violating an order of protection in the Village of Mt. Morris on May 19.
Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence at approximately 5:12 p.m. following a report of a possible order of protection violation.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Emerhre May, 22, of Perry, allegedly confronted an individual and made direct threats of harm during the interaction.
Investigators said the incident occurred while an active complete stay away order of protection was in place protecting the individual from May.
May was arrested by Deputy Vincent Molisani and charged with felony Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and Harassment in the Second Degree.
Following processing at the Livingston County Jail, May was arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before Mt. Morris Justice Finnigan.
The District Attorney’s Office recommended bail be set at $1,000 cash or $5,000 bond, but the judge set bail at $500 cash or $2,500 bond.
May was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff after the arraignment, where the Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented the defendant.
The New York State Police assisted with the investigation.
