Woman arrested after stabbing two victims in Auburn

AUBURN — Police arrested a woman Tuesday night after she allegedly stabbed two people near Seymour and Holly streets before fleeing to her home.

Kelli Vroman was taken into custody after officers found her hiding in the attic of her residence at 5 Liberty St., according to Detective James Frost of the Auburn Police Department.

The incident began around 8:47 p.m. Tuesday when Cayuga County 911 received a call reporting a stabbing.

Officers from Auburn Police, New York State Police, and Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene where they found two adult female victims suffering from stab wounds.

The victims, who knew Vroman prior to the attack, identified her as the assailant and told police she had fled on foot.

Both victims were transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University with non-life-threatening injuries.

Vroman has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Following her arrest, Vroman was transported to Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment.
