WAPPINGER — A 29-year-old man was arrested Monday following a raid on his Dugan Lane residence where authorities seized more than 10 ounces of cocaine and approximately 500 prescription Xanax pills packaged for sale.
Alfonso Perez, formerly from Bronx County, New York, was identified as a “dangerous drug and narcotic dealer” following an investigation by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force into fentanyl and cocaine sales in the Town of Wappinger, Town of East Fishkill, City of Beacon and surrounding areas.
Drug Task Force Agents purchased quantities of fentanyl and crack cocaine from Perez on multiple occasions, which led to a search warrant for his residence.
On May 19 at 10 a.m., Drug Task Force Agents, assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit (SWAT), executed the search warrant and took Perez into custody without incident.
In addition to the narcotics, authorities seized packaging materials for fentanyl and cocaine sales, as well as numerous handgun magazines and hollow point ammunition.
Perez was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, a class A-1 Felony, and one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree for fentanyl/cocaine, a class B Felony.
Following his arraignment in the Town of Wappinger Justice Court, Perez was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail.
The Drug Task Force was assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Bureau and the Town of East Fishkill Police Department during the execution of the search warrant.
