BOSTON — A 17-year-old male from Dorchester was arrested Wednesday morning following an investigation into an armed robbery that occurred in Mattapan, according to Boston Police.

Officers and detectives from the Boston Police Youth Violence Strike Force took the juvenile into custody at approximately 6:15 a.m. on May 21 at a residence on Delphi Street.

The arrest stemmed from an incident reported on Sunday, May 18, when two juvenile victims told police they had been robbed at gunpoint while visiting a friend at 633 River Street in Mattapan.

According to the victims, who reported the crime at approximately 9 p.m., the robbery occurred around 6 p.m. that evening when an individual known to them retrieved a firearm from a drawer.

Police say the suspect placed the weapon against the back of one victim’s head and forcibly took a sweatshirt before threatening both victims with bodily harm.

District E-18 Detectives identified the suspect through their investigation and obtained both arrest and search warrants.

During the search of the suspect’s residence at 204 Delphi Street, officers recovered the stolen sweatshirt and a loaded Taurus GX4 firearm with an obliterated serial number.

The juvenile suspect is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges including armed robbery, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of threats to commit a crime, and two counts of witness intimidation.
