RED HOOK — New York State Police arrested a Kingston man following two robberies in the Village of Red Hook on May 21.
Troopers and investigators from the SP Rhinebeck barracks responded to a report of a robbery at approximately 7:20 a.m. in the parking lot of Stewart’s Shop at 7558 North Broadway.
Authorities located the suspect, identified as John E. Pagan, 61, of Kingston, in the Village of Red Hook and took him into custody without incident.
Further investigation revealed that shortly after the initial robbery, Pagan was allegedly involved in a second robbery with an unidentified victim near the intersection of West Market Street and State Route 9, also in Red Hook.
Pagan was transported to SP Rhinebeck for processing and charged with robbery in the 2nd degree, a class C felony; menacing in the 3rd degree, a class B misdemeanor; grand larceny in the 4th degree, a class E felony; and attempted criminal mischief in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Following arraignment in the Village of Red Hook Court, Pagan was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of bail.
