Hadley man arrested after high-speed chase on Cemetery Road

HADLEY — A Connecticut man faces multiple charges after leading police on a high-speed chase that began in Hadley and ended in West Springfield just before midnight Wednesday.

According to the Hadley Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle traveling 85 mph on Cemetery Road, where the speed limit is 35 mph.

Despite the officer activating emergency lights and sirens, the driver continued over the Calvin Coolidge Bridge onto I-91 at an estimated speed exceeding 90 mph.

Police issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) alert to surrounding agencies.

Massachusetts State Police later notified Hadley police that they had located and stopped the vehicle in West Springfield.

The driver, identified as Jereme Jerome, 31, of Hamden, Connecticut, was arrested by Hadley police and transported back to the Hadley Police Department for booking.

Jerome faces charges including failure to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, exceeding posted speed limit and marked lanes violation.
