ENOSBURG — A Fletcher man turned himself in to authorities Thursday morning after allegedly assaulting a family member in the presence of a child, according to Vermont State Police.

Alexander Weber, 30, faces multiple charges including second-degree aggravated domestic assault, offense committed in the presence of a child, violation of an abuse prevention order, violation of conditions of release, and interference with access to emergency services.

Troopers responded to a residence on Bismark Street in Enosburg at 8:58 a.m. Thursday following a report of a family fight.

During their investigation, authorities determined Weber had caused injury to a family member while a child was present and prevented the victim from calling police.

Officials said Weber’s presence at the location violated existing court orders, including an abuse prevention order and conditions of release from a previous violation charge.

Weber surrendered himself at the Vermont State Police St. Albans Barracks and was subsequently lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility.

The identities of the 28-year-old adult victim and 1-year-old child were not released, in accordance with Vermont State Police policy regarding victims of domestic violence.
