St. Albans man charged with lewd conduct with a child in Berkshire

BERKSHIRE — Vermont State Police arrested a 27-year-old St. Albans man on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child following an investigation that began May 13.

James Rivera-Martinez was taken into custody without incident on May 21 and faces three counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, according to police.

Investigators determined that the alleged incidents occurred over the course of 2024 and 2025 in the town of Berkshire.

Rivera-Martinez was processed at the St. Albans State Police Barracks before appearing for arraignment in Franklin County Superior Court.

Following his court appearance, Rivera-Martinez was transported to Northwest Correctional Center where he was lodged for lack of $15,000 bail.
