KIRKLAND — A 19-year-old motorcyclist was injured after losing control of his vehicle on Route 5 in the Town of Kirkland on May 19 at 8:19 p.m., according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
Deputies responded to the area of Route 5 and Martin Drive for a single-vehicle motorcycle accident.
Upon arrival, authorities determined that Levi Learned of Eaton was operating a blue 2007 Suzuki GSXR westbound on Route 5 when he lost control while attempting to navigate a curve.
Due to unsafe speed, Learned exited the southern shoulder of the road and struck two mailboxes before coming to a stop.
Learned was transported to WYNN Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Clinton Fire Department, Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Kirkland Police, and Kirkland Auto.
