Man arrested for stealing $1,000 worth of sneakers in Boston

BOSTON — A 42-year-old Boston man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stealing approximately $1,000 worth of sneakers from a residence in the city’s downtown area.

Officers from District A-1 responded to 59 Fleet Street around 3 p.m. following reports of a fight in progress.

Upon arrival, police found two men fighting in the middle of the street and quickly separated them.

During their investigation, officers learned that one of the men, identified as Marquez Pierce, had allegedly entered a residence and stolen the footwear.

The victim told police he had followed Pierce and located him trying to hide between two vehicles near the intersection of North Street and Fleet Street.

Police recovered the stolen sneakers and returned them to their owner.

Pierce was arrested and faces charges of breaking and entering into a building in the daytime for a felony.

He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
