Bath woman arrested on drug charges after erratic driving report

BATH — Officers with the Village of Bath Police Department arrested a local woman on drug charges after responding to a report of erratic driving on May 18.

At approximately 9 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Shannon Street and Hudson Street for a report of a vehicle driving erratically and allegedly attempting to hit a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers determined that the vehicle was not attempting to harm the pedestrian but was trying to get the pedestrian to stop walking.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Nikki L. Wright, 53, of Bath.

Wright was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor; failure to keep right, a violation; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor; and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Police allege that Wright operated a motor vehicle while her ability was impaired by drugs and possessed a quantity of cocaine and drug packaging materials.

Wright was transported to Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment where she was subsequently released.
