Rhode Island police make multiple arrests in week-long operation

PROVIDENCE — The Rhode Island State Police Detective Bureau made multiple arrests across the state between May 13 and May 19 for crimes ranging from vandalism to drug trafficking and child pornography possession.

On May 13, the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Grady J. Salfity, 19, of Weymouth, Massachusetts, for vandalism/malicious damage to property and disorderly conduct.

The following day, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Navarre Zeigler, 21, of North Providence, on a fugitive from justice warrant for homicide from Connecticut and a bench warrant for obstruction of an officer.

Also on May 14, the Computer Crimes Unit arrested Alexander Giron Vasquez, 22, of Woonsocket, for possession of child pornography.

Judge Trezvant issued $2,500 bail with special conditions including no unsupervised contact with minors.

On May 15, the ACI Investigations Unit made two separate arrests for violation of no contact orders.

Lionel Picard, 57, of Pawtucket, and Jose Santiago, 31, of Cranston, were each granted $2,000 surety bail.

That same day, K’Lone Alves, 35, of Providence, was arrested by the Gaming Enforcement Unit for cyberstalking and cyberharassment.

Alves was held as a probation violator.

Also on May 15, Johnny W. Napolitano, 45, of Providence, was arrested for obtaining property by false pretenses, fraudulent use of a credit card, and fraudulently obtaining assistance.

He was held without bail as a probation violator.

On May 16, the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Kevin Pierrot, 35, of Brockton, Massachusetts, for possession of false identification, passing counterfeit certificates, and obtaining property under false pretenses.

The operation concluded on May 19 with the arrest of Richard Rodriguez, 52, of Cranston, by the HIDTA Task Force for possession with intent to deliver over 1 kilogram of cocaine, distribution within a school zone, and possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation.
