Bath police seize meth, cocaine in bust

BATH — Village of Bath police officers seized approximately 2.5 ounces of methamphetamine and 5.6 grams of cocaine from a Budget Inn hotel room on May 16 at 1:30 p.m.

The seizure occurred after police responded to assist New York State Parole officers who had discovered a large quantity of narcotics in a parolee’s room.

Three occupants were taken into custody before police obtained and executed a search warrant on the hotel room.

Officers also recovered scales and a large amount of drug packaging materials during the search.

Justin J. Snyder, 36, of Bath, was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony, and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.

Authorities identified Snyder as a three-time convicted felon currently under NYS Parole supervision.

Megan R. Tobias, 32, of Bath, was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.

Bryan J. Burleson, 33, of Bath, was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony.

All three suspects were arraigned in Steuben County CAP Court, where Snyder and Burleson were remanded to Steuben County Jail without bail.

Tobias was released following her arraignment.
