Bath police seize drugs, arrest two at local motel

BATH — Members of the Village of Bath Police Department seized approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine and 23 grams of cocaine during a search at the Budget Inn on May 16.

The seizure occurred around 1:52 p.m. while officers were assisting New York State Parole officers who were conducting routine parole checks at the motel.

Parole officers discovered a large quantity of narcotics in a parolee’s hotel room and took two occupants into custody before turning the scene over to Bath police.

Bath police subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant on the hotel room.

In addition to the methamphetamine and cocaine, officers seized scales, a large amount of drug packaging materials, and a replica Beretta handgun.

Brian T. Hess, 42, of Bath, was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class A-II Felony.

Authorities noted that Hess is a three-time convicted felon currently under the supervision of NYS Parole.

Niccole R. Scott, 38, of Bath, was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class A-II Felony.

Both Hess and Scott were arraigned in Steuben County CAP Court and remanded to Steuben County Jail without bail.
