STAMFORD — Two suspects have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 59-year-old Angel Samaniego at the Super 8 Hotel on October 13.

Moises Alejandro Candollo-Urbaneja and Gregory Marlyn Galindez-Trias face charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor, according to the Stamford Police Department.

A court has set bond at $7 million for each suspect.

The arrests followed what police described as a “meticulous investigation” involving forensic analysis of both digital and physical evidence.

The Stamford Police Department credited its Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit for their investigative efforts, as well as the Patrol Division for their initial response.

Multiple agencies assisted in the investigation, including the Detroit Police Department, Rensselaer Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Police officials said they hope the arrests bring “some measure of closure” to the Samaniego family.
