SHAFTSBURY — A truck fire on Vermont Route 7 caused traffic delays Sunday morning after a Bondville man’s vehicle caught fire due to apparent mechanical issues.
The incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. on the southbound lane at mile marker 21.
Bradley Bisignani, 32, was uninjured in the incident, according to Vermont State Police.
Bisignani told authorities he heard a loud noise while driving and pulled over to investigate when he discovered the fire.
Shaftsbury Fire Department and Vermont State Police responded to the scene.
The Dodge 1500 truck was declared a total loss.
Paul’s Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
Traffic was delayed for approximately one hour in the area while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
