ELBRIDGE — State Police responded to a vehicle collision on State Route 5 in the town of Elbridge at 7:50 p.m. May 16.
Preliminary investigation reveals that a 2021 Subaru Outback operated by Cornelia Bianco, 57, of Syracuse, was traveling eastbound on State Route 5 when it struck a 2017 Ford Explorer operated by Scotte Farrar, 58, from Weedsport.
The Ford was slowing in the left lane to turn into a parking lot when the collision occurred.
The Subaru caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames after the impact.
Bianco was able to escape from her vehicle before it caught fire.
Both Bianco and Farrar were evaluated at the scene by Jordan Ambulance and declined transport to the hospital.
Bianco was issued a traffic ticket for following too closely.
