GREAT NECK ESTATES — The Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company responded to a report of smoke coming from a house Saturday at approximately 3:04 p.m.
Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Daniel Behnam discovered a working basement fire and transmitted a “Signal 10” working fire.
Vigilant Engine 8314 arrived shortly after with a full crew of qualified firefighters who quickly applied water to the fire, preventing it from spreading.
The incident was brought under control in under one hour.
