BOSTON — Two men were arrested Monday on firearm charges after police responded to a call about a loud group at a Roxbury park.
Sebastian Fecu, 22, of Dorchester, and Andre Landrum, 21, of Mattapan, were taken into custody around 9 p.m. on May 19 at 22 Danube Street, according to Boston Police Department officials.
Officers from District B-2 approached the group after receiving a 911 call, prompting several individuals to flee the scene.
Police pursued the suspects on foot and quickly apprehended one of them.
While searching the area, officers observed another suspect attempting to throw a backpack over a fence near 177 Blue Hill Avenue.
The backpack, which became caught on the fence, was found to contain a Glock 32 firearm with one round in the chamber and nineteen rounds in the magazine, along with an attached laser sight.
A ballistic K9 unit was called to search the playground area for additional weapons.
Officers stopped another individual wearing gloves, a hood, and carrying a backpack as a group began walking toward Dewey Street.
A pat frisk of this suspect’s backpack revealed a plastic bag containing three rounds of 9mm ammunition and two rounds of .380 ammunition.
Fecu faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, and trespassing.
Landrum was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition.
Both men are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
