HARTLAND — A West Windsor man was arrested on multiple charges after getting his vehicle stuck in the mud on private property, according to the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department.

On May 15 at approximately 5 p.m., Sheriff Palmer received a report of a vehicle stuck in the mud on private property near 78 Rice Road in Hartland.

Sheriff Palmer and Deputy Hunter Buchanan responded to the address where they made contact with a male party who provided identification of the operator.

The vehicle had been removed by a tractor prior to authorities arriving on scene.

Significant damage was caused to a portion of the VAST snowmobile trail during the incident.

During the investigation, Deputy Buchanan found probable cause to arrest Timothy W. Oconnell, 52, of West Windsor for Criminal DLS and Unlawful Mischief.

Authorities also discovered Oconnell had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for DUI 2.

On May 17, Windsor County Sheriff’s Deputies Buchanan and Jalava, along with officers from the Windsor Police Department, arrested Oconnell at his residence in West Windsor.

Oconnell is expected to appear in court on May 19 for the warrant and on July 8 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the other charges.
