WEST BROOKFIELD — A tip from a resident led to the arrest of Thomas Emerson, a man wanted on multiple warrants, around 10 a.m. Monday.
Two West Brookfield police officers responded to the report and called for mutual aid when they located Emerson.
During the arrest attempt, Emerson resisted and fled on foot.
Officers lost sight of him near a residence by Lake Wickaboag and established a perimeter.
An elderly resident helped police by pointing out Emerson, who was hiding in bushes near her stairway.
Emerson was taken into custody without further incident.
In addition to the existing warrants, Emerson now faces charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and possession of a Class A substance.
Multiple agencies assisted in the arrest, including Brookfield Police Department, North Brookfield Police Department, Hardwick/New Braintree Police Department, and Massachusetts State Police.
