PELHAM — A 33-year-old man has been charged with reckless conduct after allegedly firing a handgun at police officers responding to a 911 call Friday night, according to New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella.
Sheldon Brockelbank remains hospitalized in stable condition after being shot by police during the May 16 incident on Nashua Street.
The confrontation occurred around 11 p.m. when Pelham Police Department officers responded to a call about a person in distress.
Upon arrival, officers encountered Brockelbank, who allegedly fired a handgun multiple times at the officers.
Two officers responded with deadly force while a third used less-than-lethal force, according to the Attorney General’s office.
No law enforcement officers were physically injured during the incident.
Brockelbank will be arraigned at a later date in the 10th Circuit Court – District Division – Salem.
The New Hampshire Department of Justice is continuing its investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
The identities of the officers who used deadly force will not be released until formal interviews are conducted, which are expected to take place within the next week.
