DORCHESTER — Five individuals were arrested and three loaded firearms were recovered after Boston police responded to a large and disorderly gathering early Saturday morning.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a loud party at 12 Harlow Street in Dorchester.
Upon arrival, officers encountered more than 50 individuals congregated outside the residence.
Officers observed two males, later identified as 22-year-old Kevin Daveiga and 19-year-old Xavyan Figueroa, both of Dorchester, exhibiting behaviors consistent with individuals possibly armed with firearms.
Simultaneously, 28-year-old Aldio Barbosa of Dorchester was seen running across the street while clutching his waistband before entering the residence and briefly going to the backyard.
Officers attempted to speak with Daveiga, who began walking away while shielding his waistband.
When officers moved to detain him after observing what appeared to be a firearm, Daveiga became combative.
As the confrontation escalated, members of the crowd began to encircle the officers and physically interfere with the arrest, prompting a distress call for additional units.
Officers eventually subdued Daveiga and recovered a loaded firearm from his waistband.
During the same disturbance, 31-year-old Alidia Barbosa of Dorchester assaulted multiple officers and was taken into custody.
Aldio Barbosa reemerged from the residence and was detained for further investigation.
Officers also arrested 20-year-old Izaiah Rodrigues of Brockton after he assaulted officers during a pat-frisk.
Figueroa attempted to flee the scene while clutching his waistband, leading officers on a pursuit through nearby streets before he was located hiding between two fences behind 12 Harlow Street.
Officers later recovered two additional firearms in a wooded area between 12 Harlow Street and 9 Woodward Park, along Figueroa’s and Barbosa’s paths of flight.
The recovered weapons included a black Glock 21 with 27 rounds, a tan Glock 19 with 26 rounds, and a white Glock 23 equipped with a firearm conversion device (“switch”) with 24 rounds.
All five individuals face multiple charges including firearms offenses and assault on police officers, and are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
