Woman arrested for false statement in Cato domestic dispute

CATO — A woman from Eaton was arrested after allegedly providing false information to deputies responding to a domestic dispute, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.

Julie M. Robbins, 39, was charged with making a punishable false written statement, a misdemeanor.

Deputies were dispatched to an address in Cato at 11:12 a.m. on May 2 for a reported domestic dispute.

Robbins provided deputies with a sworn written statement about the incident, but subsequent investigation revealed the information in the statement was false, Sheriff Brian Schenck said.

Robbins was arrested on May 10 at 11:03 a.m. and transported to the Sheriff’s Office.

She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Cato Court on May 19 at 5 p.m.
