Sterling man arrested after domestic dispute involving knife

STERLING — A Sterling man was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly threatening another person with a knife during a domestic dispute following a car crash.

Macklin L. Majeski, 43, was taken into custody on May 9 at 9:14 a.m. and charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon with a previous conviction, a felony, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.

Deputies responded to Route 104A in Sterling at 8:02 a.m. for a reported single-vehicle crash where occupants were fighting with a knife.

Upon investigation, authorities determined Majeski had menaced another occupant of the vehicle with a knife during a domestic dispute.

Majeski was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment Part court, where a full stay-away order of protection was issued.

He was remanded to custody pending $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond.
