ROTTERDAM — State Police arrested a Rotterdam man on felony charges related to child sexual exploitation following an investigation that culminated in a search of his residence on May 14.
Jalil S. Vaughn, 30, faces charges of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony.
The arrest came after State Police from Princetown, with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at Vaughn’s Rotterdam home at 9 a.m.
Authorities said the investigation began after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Vaughn was taken into custody at his residence and transported to SP Princetown for processing.
He was later transferred to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility where he awaits arraignment.
