PORTLAND — Portland Police arrested a 57-year-old unhoused man Thursday night following a stabbing incident at a local restaurant.
Officers responded to Elena’s Way at 5 Portland Street at 9:16 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing.
According to police, a 56-year-old man was approached from behind and suffered a slashing wound to the base of his skull.
Following a brief investigation, police arrested Jay Larose, charging him with Elevated Aggravated Assault.
The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
