PEABODY — Two Peabody residents were arrested Friday following a two-month narcotics investigation by local police.

William G. Stanton and Jennifer Stanton, both 51, face multiple drug charges after police executed a search warrant at their apartment on Central Street.

The Peabody Police Criminal Investigations Division, assisted by the Patrol Division and Salem K9, served the court-authorized warrant at 103 Central Street, Apartment 211.

Both suspects were charged with trafficking a Class A substance, four counts of possession with intent to distribute Class B substances, two counts of possession with intent to distribute Class C substances, and two counts of possession of Class E substances.

Police Chief Thomas Griffin said the investigation was initiated in response to community complaints and surveillance operations.

“This investigation reflects our department’s ongoing commitment to addressing illegal drug activity and keeping our neighborhoods safe,” Griffin said.

Investigators seized evidence consistent with narcotics distribution during the search.

The Stantons were transported to the Peabody Police Department for booking and will be arraigned at Peabody District Court.
