North Greenbush man arrested on child exploitation charges

NORTH GREENBUSH — State Police arrested a 26-year-old North Greenbush man Thursday on felony charges related to child sexual exploitation material.

Jeremy D. Curtis was taken into custody May 15 at his residence following an investigation that began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Curtis faces charges of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony.

The arrest came after authorities executed a search warrant at Curtis’s home at 8:30 a.m., according to State Police from the Schodack barracks.

Multiple agencies collaborated in the investigation, including the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Following his arrest, Curtis was processed at the State Police Schodack station and arraigned at North Greenbush Town Court.

A judge remanded Curtis to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility without bail.
