LEE — A 26-year-old motorcyclist died after losing control of his vehicle on a wet road in the Town of Lee early Wednesday morning, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Robert M. Maciol reported that road patrol deputies responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle accident around 12:45 a.m. on Lee Center Taberg Road.

Investigators determined that David J. Terry of Lee Center was traveling westbound on a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle when he lost control due to high speed on wet roadway conditions.

Terry exited the roadway and was extracted from the accident scene by Lee Center Fire Department personnel.

He was transported via AmCare Ambulance to Rome Hospital in critical condition.

Terry was later transferred to SUNY Upstate Hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by members of the New York State Police, Lee Center Fire Department, and AmCare Ambulance Company.
